Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including NICU and PICU populations
- Deliver age-appropriate respiratory care to neonatal and pediatric patients in accordance with established protocols
- Participate in a self-scheduling model while remaining flexible to unit staffing needs
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
- Complete specialty-specific orientation modules as required by the facility
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; pending licenses accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the start date (a license in another state is required to be eligible for a temporary VA license)
- Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
- Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for select units per facility policy — confirm eligibility at submission)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
- Cardiac PICU experience preferred
