Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care for neonatal and pediatric patients
- Deliver specialized care in the NICU and Cardiac PICU environments
- Perform respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures as assigned
- Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
- Participate in self-scheduling model; unit will make reasonable efforts to accommodate scheduling preferences, though specific schedules cannot be guaranteed
Required Qualifications
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; pending licenses accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before start date — candidate must hold an active license in another state to be eligible for a Virginia temporary license
- Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Candidates must not exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility; travelers who have reached this threshold are not eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
- Cardiac PICU experience preferred
