    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist – NICU (RRT)

    Location

    Albuquerque, NM | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (18:00–06:30) | Expected 36 hours/week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide respiratory therapy services in a NICU setting with an average daily census of 6–10 ventilated patients
    • Perform and manage endotracheal intubation/suctioning, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, and tracheostomy suctioning
    • Conduct ABG interpretation and pulmonary toileting procedures
    • Collect sputum specimens and support overall respiratory care within a high-acuity environment
    • Float to the adult RRT unit as needed within scope of practice
    • Work weekends as required by the unit; travelers are expected to work no more than 3 consecutive weekends to accommodate unit needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Active or pending New Mexico Respiratory Therapist License
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
    • BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required (RQI certifications not accepted)
    • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
    • Trauma Level I experience required
    • Proficiency in NICU and Pediatric Critical Care skills including ventilator management
    • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; non-local driver's license required on file
    • Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel therapy experience in a NICU or pediatric critical care setting
    • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records
    • Experience in a Level I Trauma, teaching, or children's hospital environment
