    Job Title

    Respiratory Therapist – NICU (RRT)

    Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (6:00–18:30) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide respiratory therapy services in a NICU setting with an average daily census of 6–10 ventilated patients
    • Perform and manage endotracheal tube placement/suctioning, extubation, nasal and oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, and tracheostomy suctioning
    • Conduct ABG interpretation and pulmonary toileting
    • Collect sputum specimens and support pediatric critical care needs
    • Float to the adult RRT unit as needed within scope of practice
    • Work weekends as needed by the unit; travelers are expected to work no more than 3 consecutive weekends to accommodate unit needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New Mexico Respiratory Therapist License (pending licensure may be considered at submission)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
    • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
    • Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
    • Trauma Level I experience required
    • Proficiency in NICU and Pediatric Critical Care
    • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; a non-local driver's license is required on file
    • Must be available to work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel therapy experience welcomed; first-time travelers are accepted
    • Experience with Cerner electronic health records
    • Familiarity with high-acuity NICU environments and ventilator management
