Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PICU/NICU night shift position at a pediatric teaching hospital, requiring RRT certification and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

  • Provide respiratory care in the NICU, PICU, emergency department, and pediatric & adult acute/intermediate care units at a children's hospital
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-7:15)
  • No call requirements
  • Candidates may float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
  • Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

  • Current RRT certification required
  • BLS and NRP certifications required; PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU or NICU experience required
  • Oregon state license required if applicable, though pending license status accepted with ability to apply once offered
  • Epic charting experience required for consideration
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Proficiency in ventilator management, airway management, and neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillator, and ECMO
  • Experience with medication delivery systems and administration for respiratory conditions
  • Skilled in arterial blood gas interpretation and various suctioning/airway management techniques
  • COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions

Additional Information

  • Provide therapeutic interventions including airway management, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, and point of care testing
  • Deliver age-specific care in alignment with the hospital's Family Centered Care Program
  • Support and train new respiratory therapists, students, and other healthcare team members
  • Complete required competency testing and maintain up-to-date knowledge of care modalities and equipment
  • Document and charge for all services provided according to hospital policy
  • First-time travelers accepted for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
  • Returning staff must have a 6+ month gap since their last assignment to be eligible
  • Upfront RTO requests limited to no more than 2 weeks
