Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist with PICU or NICU experience for a night shift position at a children's hospital.

Details

  • Support respiratory care across NICU, PICU, emergency department, and pediatric & adult acute/intermediate care units
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • No on-call requirements
  • May float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals per unit needs
  • Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience required, PICU or NICU experience required
  • BLS and RRT certification required
  • NRP and PALS certifications preferred
  • State license required if applicable
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience with ventilator management, airway management, and neonatal/pediatric respiratory equipment
  • Experience with high frequency oscillator and jet ventilators preferred
  • Experience with ECMO, bronchoscopy, and care of infants with BPD, RDS, and RSV preferred
  • COVID vaccination proof required, no exemptions accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide therapeutic interventions including airway management, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, and point of care testing
  • Deliver age-specific care in alignment with the hospital's Family Centered Care Program
  • Assist and train other respiratory therapists, students, and healthcare team members
  • Complete all required competency testing and in-services to maintain scope of practice
  • Chart and charge for all services provided per hospital policy
  • Unit accepts first-time travelers
  • Accepts local candidates at the same rate with no mile radius restriction
  • Returning staff must have a break of 6+ months since last assignment to be eligible
  • RTO must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
