Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active Ohio state license.

Details

  • Work in the Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit at a hospital setting
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend work required
  • Floating between campuses may be required
  • Uses GE ventilators
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Active Ohio state RRT license required in hand prior to consideration (license required if applicable)
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification preferred
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification preferred
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • High School Diploma and College Diploma/transcripts required
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Experience with adult critical care and emergency department settings
  • Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Experience with medication delivery systems and various respiratory medications
  • Ability to interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
  • Previous travel experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory care and neuro diagnostic services within a hospital setting
  • Work involves ventilator management, airway care, and medication administration
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract
  • Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location in-state as soon as possible after booking
  • Candidates at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; coworker references are not accepted
  • Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
