Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner for a hospital-based night shift position requiring an Illinois RCP license and NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist credential.

Details

• Respiratory Care department in an inpatient hospital setting
• Provides care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patient populations
• Evaluates and treats patients on inpatient units and in the Emergency Department
• Performs arterial, venous, and capillary blood gas analysis
• Night shift, 7:00PM-7:30AM
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Weekend and holiday shifts as needed
• Floating as needed
• Uses Epic EMR for charting and charge documentation

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist credential required
• Illinois RCP license required if applicable
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong understanding of all aspects of respiratory care

Additional Information

• Perform routine and critical respiratory care procedures under supervision of a Respiratory Care Supervisor and Medical Director
• Assemble, disassemble, clean, and maintain respiratory care equipment
• Complete assessments on ventilator patients and other patients receiving respiratory care services
• Chart accurately on respiratory flow sheets and care plans within the EMR
• Recommend timely interventions and referrals based on patient respiratory care regimen
• Document sleep therapy compliance and communicate adverse effects to physicians in writing
• Assist with stocking and cleaning respiratory care supplies and equipment on inpatient units
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
