Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with NICU Level IV or Peds ICU experience for a day shift position at a teaching hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit within a children's hospital
  • Cares for pediatric patients in NICU Level IV and Pediatric Critical Care settings
  • Performs airway management, suctioning, extubation, and bronchoscopy care as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR for charting
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Requires holiday rotation and every other weekend work
  • No on-call requirements
  • May float within scope depending on experience, no floating to sister facilities

Requirements

  • Active RRT certification required (NBRC or SC RCP accepted)
  • BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required (AHA certifications only)
  • License required if applicable
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • NICU Level IV experience required, Peds ICU experience will be considered
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • SC RRT license must be in hand at time of start
  • Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Work within a Magnet-designated, teaching hospital that is also a Level 1 Trauma Center
  • Scrub color required is Caribbean Blue
  • First-time travelers will be considered depending on the position
  • Previous MUSC perm staff or PRN employees must be separated from the system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for consideration
  • Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
  • Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
  • During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
