Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with pediatric ECMO experience for a NICU position at a Level I/II trauma pediatric hospital.

Details

• NICU and Pediatric Critical Care unit at a pediatric teaching hospital
• Cares for neonatal and pediatric patients including ECMO, ARDS, RSV, and respiratory distress syndrome cases
• Patient ratio of 1:8
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Performs neonatal transports and inter-departmental/ambulance patient transports
• Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:00) and Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:00) available

Requirements

• RRT credential required (RRT-NPS preferred); pending MA license accepted
• BLS required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 4 years of experience as an ECMO Specialist operating ECMO equipment
• Minimum 2+ years of recent pediatric ECMO experience
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Prior travel experience required
• Experience priming ECMO circuits and managing pediatric ECMO patients
• Skilled in ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillator, and high frequency jet ventilator
• Proficient in ABG interpretation, chest physiotherapy, and airway management/suctioning
• 2 verified professional references required from 2 of the last 3 places worked, from different facilities
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to critically ill neonatal and pediatric patients including those requiring ECMO support
• Administer medications via aerosol, MDI, and other delivery systems including Albuterol, Nitric Oxide, and Racemic epinephrine
• Perform intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care/management
• Work within a pediatric critical care and NICU team environment
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a reduced rate compared to travel rate
