Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist Registered (RT PEDS) Madison, Wisconsin. This is a 36-hour per week assignment working day/evening shifts, with a schedule that includes 8 and 12-hour shifts, and every other weekend rotations. The candidate will be part of an inter-disciplinary team providing respiratory care to pediatric and adult patients at a Level 1 Trauma Center. The position involves collaboration with physicians and care team members to deliver high-quality patient services in a busy hospital environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, starting on 08/31/2026, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association only); RT (Registered Therapist), CRT or RRT certification accepted; Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license pending at time of submittal; two years minimum experience as a respiratory therapist; pediatric and adult experience preferred; COARC-accredited school for Respiratory Therapy required; minimum experience of 2 years
- Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric experience, Inpatient acute care experience, experience with aerosol setup, ventilator management, and advanced respiratory procedures
- Certifications: BLS, CRT, RRT, or RRT & CRT; WI Respiratory Care Practitioner license (pending at submission)
- Additional Information: Expected to provide aerosolized medication, airway clearance, tracheostomy cares, mechanical ventilation management, and collaborate with the care team to develop and evaluate patient care plans. Travelers will be required to float as needed; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted. Must pass strict telemetry and cardiac interpretation exams with attempts limited to two before completing a cardiac review course for a third attempt.
