Job Summary
Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatric (PEDS) in Orlando. This role involves providing advanced respiratory care to high-acuity neonatal and pediatric patients within a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The position requires a compassionate and adaptable professional to deliver quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shift hours, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Two or more years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RT); experience with NICU Level IV patients; ventilator management including High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV) and Jet Ventilation; nitric oxide therapy; Bubble Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP).
- Preferred Qualifications: NAVA (Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist), arterial puncture skills.
- Additional Information: This position involves managing high-acuity patients with a variety of equipment including Servo N, HFOV, Jet ventilators, Hamilton T1, and nitric oxide delivery systems. The unit has 142 beds with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:6 to 8, depending on acuity. Candidates should demonstrate a positive, professional attitude, team orientation, and the ability to adapt quickly to a high-pressure environment.
