Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position requiring Level 1 Trauma experience and Epic proficiency in a day-shift hospital setting.

Details

• Float pool position based in the Ortho unit with floating to Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, Advanced Care, and ICU units as needed
• Day shift schedule, 7:00AM-7:30PM, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Level 1 Trauma center environment
• Uses Epic EMR for charting
• No on-call requirements
• 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience required
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care across multiple inpatient units including Medical-Surgical, Oncology, Orthopedic, and Advanced Care
• Conducts patient assessments, develops and implements care plans, and evaluates ongoing patient needs
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate high-quality patient care
• May precept staff from various units as needed
• Responsible for identifying and reporting safety hazards and incidents
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Contingent workers may not remain on assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a 6-month break in service
