Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a 14-bed adult med/cardiac unit requiring 2+ years of PCU experience and an NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Adult med/cardiac Progressive Care Unit (14 beds) treating CHF, post-cath/pacemaker, and COPD patients
• Patient ratio of 1:6 with 1-2 admissions per day
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• 4-day workweek at 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
• 36-hour weekly contracts will also be considered
• On-call required if needed, approximately one shift per pay period
• 4 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required if needed

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI-A certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of PCU experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing school required
• BSN or MSN preferred

• Deliver competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Care for patients with complex medical, psychosocial, and educational needs
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Participate in unit performance improvement activities and professional development
