Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit/IMC position requiring at least 2 years of current IMC experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based staffing pool providing flexible nursing coverage across inpatient units and support for inpatients held in the Emergency Department
• Skills utilized include telemetry monitoring, IV/PICC line care, IV insertion, tube care, and port management
• Day shift schedule from 7:00am to 7:00pm
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• On-call requirement of one shift per pay period if census drops
• Must be willing to take IMC patients

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (or compact)
• Minimum of 2 years current IMC experience required
• Minimum of 1 year overall nursing experience required
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
• NIHSS certification required
• CPI-A certification required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred
• PCU/IMC skills checklist required for consideration

• Delivers competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards while coordinating patient care using the nursing process
• Provides care for patients with complex physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Participates in discharge planning and identifies patients at high risk for complex discharge needs
• Performs bedside point of care testing as part of the patient care plan
• Engages in performance improvement activities and unit goal development
• Holiday coverage required for every other holiday
