PCU Travel Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent progressive care, stepdown, telemetry, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Recent telemetry nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to safely manage titratable and cardiac medications, including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, heparin, and diuretics
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
• Flexible, positive, and compassionate approach to patient care

Progressive Care Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for progressive care patients with CHF, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedure cardiac conditions
• Monitor patients following cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker or ICD procedures, and ablation
• Perform focused nursing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Manage telemetry monitoring and administer titratable cardiac and critical-care medications according to established protocols
• Assist with bedside cardioversion and other unit-based procedures within scope of practice
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, patient care technicians, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care
• Float to appropriate medical-surgical, stepdown, emergency department holding, or designated specialty units as needed
• Support a respectful, patient-centered environment through clear communication and dependable teamwork
