Progressive Care RN Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience, including medical ICU or progressive care experience in a large facility
• Experience providing higher-acuity patient care, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
• Clinical knowledge of critical care pharmacology, including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
• Experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring and central line management
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Strong critical-thinking, communication, teamwork, and adaptability skills
• Willingness to float to other areas as needed

PCU Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to PCU and ICU-overflow patients with varying levels of acuity
• Assess patients, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes
• Monitor and manage ventilated patients, advanced hemodynamics, central lines, IV infusions, and other critical care needs
• Administer and monitor medications such as sedatives, paralytics, and vasopressors according to clinical protocols
• Recognize changes in patient condition and respond promptly using sound clinical judgment
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment and promote positive patient outcomes
• Assist providers with bedside procedures, including chest tube placement and intubation, as needed
• Complete thorough documentation in Cerner and participate in mandatory bedside shift report
• Support a flexible team environment by floating when assigned and assisting with unit needs
