Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care RN for a day shift assignment requiring HI RN licensure and acute care telemetry experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit with 15 beds, including 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
• Patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-Down ICU
• Day shift schedule from 0645 to 1915, 36 hours per week following first week of orientation
• Unit operates 24 hours Monday through Friday
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER units as needed
• Uses Meditech charting, Pyxis medication system, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment

Requirements

• Active HI RN license required by start of assignment
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year
• Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide primary nursing care including telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
• Scrubs required for dress code
• Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to start of assignment, with appointment scheduled locally in Hilo
• Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health on Friday morning
