Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care RN for a 13-week assignment in Hawaii, requiring an active HI RN license and at least 1 year of recent acute care experience.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit with 15 beds, including 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
  • Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation with no guarantee of hours
  • No call requirements
  • Floating required to other acute units including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
  • Uses Meditech for charting and Pyxis for medication administration
  • Utilizes BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment

Requirements

  • Active HI RN license required by start of assignment, with application upon offer acceptance if not already held
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year required
  • Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred
  • PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
  • Scrubs required as part of dress code
  • All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to the start of the assignment
  • Travelers should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to report to Employee Health that Friday morning
