Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care/Cardiac Telemetry position requiring a HI RN license and acute care experience.

Details

  • 15-bed Progressive Care Unit with 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for Step-down ICU
  • Day shift, 0645 to 1915, scheduled 36 hours per week following first week of orientation
  • Unit operates 24 hours, Monday through Friday
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Meditech charting, Pyxis medication system, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
  • Floating required to Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER units as needed

Requirements

  • Active HI RN license required, or must apply upon acceptance with license obtained by assignment start
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • PALS and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required, including at least 1 year of hospital acute care within the last year
  • Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide primary nursing care including telemetry monitoring, telemetry strip reading, and fingerstick blood sugar testing
  • All travelers must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to assignment start for a scheduled appointment
  • Travelers with a Monday start should plan to arrive in Hawaii the prior Thursday to report to Employee Health Friday morning
  • Scrubs required as dress code
  • COVID-19 vaccination required
