Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care/IMCU position requiring 2+ years of high-acuity trauma center experience, BLS, and ACLS certification.
Details
- IMCU unit with 16-10 beds
- Patient ratio of 1 to 4
- Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, Type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy
- Manages heparin drips
- Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling not typically approved
- 4 weekend shifts required per month
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
- High-acuity, high-volume trauma center experience required
- Proven experience managing critical, fast-paced situations in large-scale trauma environments
- Experience limited to small or low-volume hospitals not considered
Additional Information
- Provide progressive/intermediate care nursing to a complex, high-acuity patient population
- Level 1 trauma center environment with high-volume, diverse case mix
- Mandatory holiday coverage required: either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, and either Christmas Eve/Christmas Day or New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel rate
