  • Floating: Required to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery areas as needed

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent postpartum nursing or Mother/Baby RN experience required
  • High-risk obstetric care experience required
  • Active Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
  • BLS and NRP certifications required
  • Epic experience required
  • Experience with magnesium therapy, Pitocin, Foley management, postpartum hemorrhage, and substance withdrawal care
  • Ability to manage up to 4 couplets during census surges
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working in a high-census, fast-paced clinical environment
  • First-time travelers considered with strong postpartum experience
  • Must be available to work 3 of 5 major holidays during the contract

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate care to postpartum patients and newborns in a high-volume Mother/Baby unit
  • Assess and monitor mothers following delivery, including fundus, lochia, perineal, and incision care
  • Administer and monitor medications and therapies such as magnesium and Pitocin
  • Recognize and respond quickly to postpartum hemorrhage and other high-risk obstetric complications
  • Support patients experiencing substance withdrawal with professional, patient-centered care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes and family-centered care
  • Float to nearby postpartum and labor & delivery units when needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols consistently
