Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an active OH or Compact RN license and 2+ years of current PICU experience.

• Work in the PICU of a pediatric hospital environment
• :
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00 to 07:30

• Float required to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed

• Epic charting system required

• Uses Broselow system for pediatric emergency medication dosing

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required, first-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of recent Level I PICU experience
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, and care of ventilated patients
• Experience with arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and phlebotomy
• Proficient in administration of IV vasopressors, antiarrhythmics, continuous sedation, and pediatric dosage calculations
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Two professional references required at time of consideration, at least one must be from a supervisor or manager (charge references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level I trauma teaching hospital setting
• Floating to other units is a requirement and a key point of emphasis for this facility
• Must be prepared to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed based on assignment needs
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous permanent employees of this health system are not eligible unless at least 2 years have passed since separation
• First-time travelers will be considered if they have closer to 3 years of recent Level I PICU experience
