Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a NICU position requiring Level III/IV NICU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the NICU unit of a children's hospital
  • Care for neonatal patients including gestational ages under 24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and over 34 weeks
  • Day shift schedule (4x12 hours), 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Float requirement to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS, BPD NICU, and rarely ED
  • Float requirement to other campuses including OH Health Riverside, Mount Carmel St. Ann's, OH Health Grant Medical, OH Health Dublin Methodist, and OH Health Doctors Hospital
  • BPD NICU floating involves patients with average length of stay of 2-3 years requiring frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement

Requirements

  • Active OH or Compact RN license in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and NRP required, PALS preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required
  • Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Two professional references required, at least one from a supervisor or manager
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations
  • Experience with ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), high frequency ventilation, and oscillators
  • Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, seizure disorders, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
  • Experience attending high-risk deliveries and managing respiratory distress syndrome
  • Cannot have worked in a permanent role with the facility within the last 2 years

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care to a range of gestational ages including complex respiratory, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurologic cases
  • Support high-risk deliveries and provide emergency medication administration as needed
  • Manage complex procedures including lumbar puncture assistance, ICP monitoring, and ventricular peritoneal shunt care
  • Provide breastfeeding support and manage feedings including gavage and gastroschisis/omphalocele care
  • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility to qualify for this position
  • Floating to other units and campuses is a firm expectation of this role
  • First-time travelers are not preferred for this position
