**Exciting Opportunity: Pediatric CVICU Registered Nurse (Contract)** **Job Description:** - **Unit Information:** - **Unit Type:** Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) - **Location:** 7700 Floyd Curl Dr, SA, TX 78229 - **Floor:** 4CT - **Number of Beds:** 24 - **Staffing:** 40 dedicated healthcare professionals - **Day Shift:** 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 RNs (dependent on census), 1 Unit Coordinator - **Night Shift:** 1 Charge Nurse, 5-6 RNs (dependent on census), 1 Unit Coordinator - **Patient Ratios:** - 2:1 for most patients - 1:1 for higher acuity - 3:1 for lower acuity (step-down patients) - **Equipment Used:** Ventilators, drips, chest tubes, central lines, syringe pumps, tracheostomies, gastrostomy tubes - **Electronic Medical Record:** Meditech - **Ideal Candidate Profile:** - **Required Skills:** - Experience with intubated patients and ventilators - ICU-level care experience - **Preferred Skills:** - ECMO experience (patient care, not pump operation) - Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience - **Typical Procedures Performed:** - Central line and chest tube placement - Sedation, lumbar puncture, intubation - **Personality Fit:** - Flexible for change - Excellent communication with the medical team - Friendly and positive attitude - **Certifications Required:** - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - **Floating Areas:** - All children’s units and NICU (PIMC, PSRG, Pediatric Hematology-Oncology, Emergency Room for inpatient holds, PCICU) - **Dress Code:** - Scrub Color: Navy blue (no t-shirts allowed) - **Weekend and On-Call Requirements:** - Every other weekend required **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
