Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Travel Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a 16-week assignment. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic treatments that help patients improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall functional independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, and mobility activities.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Educate patients and caregivers on prescribed exercise programs and safety techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely treatment documentation.
- Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility training.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support rehabilitation goals.
- Ensure compliance with professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) License required.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Current BLS certification preferred.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Previous rehabilitation, skilled nursing, post-acute care, or outpatient therapy experience preferred.
