Opportunity:
Outpatient Pharmacy Tech 3
Job Details:
• Provide technical support to pharmacists through preparation of unit doses, data entry, delivery of medications, and cart fill exchange
• Ensure accountability and accuracy of standard operations procedures
• Work under direct supervision of a Pharmacist responsible for safe and proper distribution and use of drugs
• Serve patient populations ranging in age from neonates and infants to elderly patients over 65 years old
• Maintain automation dispensing cabinet movement and stock to accommodate patient needs
• Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous medications per regulatory guidelines
• Manipulate dosage form devices including syringes and unit dose packaging
• Perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations
• Apply aseptic technique and sterilize laminar or horizontal flow hoods
• Prepare IV mixtures and chemotherapy compounds
• Prevent and report medication errors
• Must be able to stand, walk, push or pull delivery carts, bend, and reach for 6-8 continuous hours per day
• Minimum 3 years of experience required, with 1-3 years of mixing experience
• State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certification: CPhT
• Epic experience required
• Ability to read and understand medical-related terms and medical/scientific nomenclature
• Inpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Flexibility in scheduling of shift times required
