Key Responsibilities of the Pharmacist- Accept and dispense prescription medications
- Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
- Ensure the supply of medicines is within the law and suitable for patients
- Accurately maintain confidential records of all patients
- Advise patients on medication usage, reactions, and address their questions
- Provide consultation on medication storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions
- Offer services such as smoking cessation, blood pressure and cholesterol management
- Educate patients on the use of medical devices
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks
- Maintain appropriate inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies
- Identify and communicate patient drug-related problems with healthcare practitioners
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and pharmacists
Requirements of the Pharmacist- Doctor of Pharmacy degree required
- Licensed by the state pharmacy board
