Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of professional pediatric nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to assess and care for pediatric patients across varying acuity levels
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and effectively during overnight nursing shifts
• Completion of facility and assignment-specific compliance requirements

Pediatric Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and age-appropriate nursing care to pediatric patients
• Perform comprehensive pediatric patient assessments, monitor progress, and promptly identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders, policies, and pediatric safety standards
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized pediatric nursing care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate children and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge needs
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and communication accurately in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and a positive healthcare experience for every child and family
