Description
HonorVet Technologies is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatric PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Chicago, Illinois.

Facility: La Rabida Children's Hospital
Location: 6501 S Promontory Dr, Chicago, IL 60649
Specialty: Pediatric Stepdown
Contract: 13 Weeks
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3x12s or 4x12s
Weekend: Every other weekend
On-Call: No
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Active Illinois RN License in hand at submission
- BLS and PALS required
- Previous travel experience required
- Pediatric Stepdown/PICU experience preferred
- Experience with ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, and G-tubes required
- 1:4 patient ratio experience required
- Meditech experience required
- Comfortable caring for pediatric patients from infants through adolescents
Unit Details
- 39-bed inpatient pediatric unit
- Patient population: Infants, Pediatrics, and Adolescents
- Patient ratios: approximately 1:3–4
- Patients have complex chronic illnesses and long-term technology dependence
- Approximately 50–60% of patients have technology dependence
- Many patients have chronic ventilators and tracheostomies
- No drips or surgical patients
- Interdisciplinary support includes Respiratory Therapy, PT, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, and Phlebotomy
Important: Candidates must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients with chronic ventilators, tracheostomies, and G-tubes.
