Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Medical RN with Level I trauma experience to care for patients from newborn to 18 years old on a Days shift schedule.

Details

• Pediatric Medical unit within a Level I trauma hospital
• Cares for a wide range of pediatric patients from newborn to 18 years old, with no specific patient population focus
• Experience with respiratory and GI cases preferred due to diverse patient needs
• Must have experience caring for patients with tracheostomies and home ventilators
• Days shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS certification (AHA)
• Current PALS certification (AHA)
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required, including up to 1 year of Level I trauma experience
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and procedures
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients and families
• Basic computer skills required

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to pediatric patients with a range of health conditions from simple to complex
• Monitors physiological data, administers medications, and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Collaborates with physicians on diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Communicates care plans and discharge information with patients and families
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered
• Full date of birth and Social Security number required for consideration
• Facility enforces strict compliance and credentialing deadlines, with no start date flexibility
• 30-day written notice required for early cancellation or termination of assignment
• Returning workers may extend only once up to a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
