Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Medical unit requiring PALS certification and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Pediatric Medical unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, three days per week

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or multistate compact eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients and deliver direct nursing care
• Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting all physician order changes
• Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitor physiological data and intervene as needed
• Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
• Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• First-time travelers may be considered if they meet experience requirements
• Returning workers limited to one extension up to 26 weeks total, followed by a 6-month separation before reapplying
