Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license and current PICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a children's hospital
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Required to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• Cares for critically ill pediatric patients requiring respiratory, renal, cardiovascular, and neurologic monitoring and interventions

Requirements

• Active OH or Compact RN license in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required (CVPICU-only experience not accepted)
• First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience and recent Level 1 acuity experience
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skills required include ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, tracheostomy care, arterial line management, central line care, IV therapy, administration of emergency medications, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• 2 supervisory references required, at least one must be manager or supervisor titled

Additional Information

• Provide direct bedside care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level 1 pediatric intensive care setting
• Floating to other units is a strict requirement and a key point of emphasis at this facility
• Candidates cannot have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the last 2 years
• No local candidates allowed within a 60-mile radius
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the specified experience requirements
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of consideration
