Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with strong PICU experience for a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital requiring DC licensure.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool role floating between PICU, CVPICU, and NICU based on facility need
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, with up to 1:3 when floating to NICU
• Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or Night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) schedules available
• Every other weekend required, with openness to blocked weekend scheduling
• Every other holiday required, with one holiday guaranteed based on preference
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required, MD/VA compact or state license also accepted; pending DC license accepted with proof of application
• 2+ years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required, 3 years preferred
• Some NICU/CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Strong comfort with floating between CVPICU, PICU, and NICU required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across pediatric ICU settings, caring for all ages
• Work within a Magnet-designated, academic teaching hospital with Level I Trauma status and 320 staffed beds
• Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly and logo-free
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days; a full week off requires making up missed shifts or extending the assignment
• No RTO permitted after accepting the offer
• Only one Children's National location may be applied to per traveler
• Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least one year
• Pre-start training modules must be completed prior to orientation
