Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position requiring 2+ years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience and an active DC RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool role in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma hospital
• Floats between PICU, CVPICU, and NICU based on facility needs
• Cares for pediatric patients of all ages in critical care settings
• Patient ratios of 1:1 to 1:2, up to 1:3 when floating to NICU
• Day shift (3x12, 7:00-19:30) or night shift (3x12, 19:00-7:30) available
• Every other weekend required, with block weekend scheduling also available
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active DC RN license required; pending license accepted with proof and application submitted within 24-48 hours of signing
• MD/VA applicants must hold a compact or state license
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent PICU or CVPICU experience required
• Some NICU/CICU experience highly preferred due to floating expectations
• Teaching hospital and Level I trauma experience preferred
• Cerner charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across PICU, CVPICU, and NICU units as assigned
• Scrubs may be any color but must be child-friendly with no logos
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted with no mileage restriction at the same bill rate
• Returning travelers must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year
• Maximum RTO of 7 days; a full week off requires making up missed shifts or extending the assignment
• Every other weekend and holiday required, with one holiday guaranteed and the second based on facility need
• Completion of pre-start orientation modules required prior to starting the assignment
