Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift float pool position requiring 2 years of Peds ICU experience and a South Carolina or Compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care float pool position within a children's hospital
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36 hours/week
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Required to work every other weekend and rotate holidays
• Float required within scope to all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Block scheduling may be accommodated pending manager approval based on unit needs

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and PALS certification (AHA only accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• Proficiency in pediatric dosage calculations, IV vasopressors, and continuous sedation management
• Skilled in ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and ICP monitoring care
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients including medication administration, respiratory support, and neurologic monitoring
• Must reside within 60 miles of the facility for local candidate consideration; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for approval based on unit needs
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the required experience
• Local candidates are considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate
• Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response duties during hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September)
