Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with 2+ years of Peds ICU experience for a night shift position requiring SC or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital
• Floats within scope across all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7PM-7:30AM, 36 hours/week
• Required to work every other weekend with holiday rotation
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
• Facility may cancel up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
• May be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June-November)

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Peds ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in administration of emergency medications, anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in care/maintenance of acute airway and interpretation of ABGs
• Experience managing chest tubes and central/PICC line care
• ICP monitoring experience required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, and PPE
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services to pediatric patients across multiple ICU units
• First-time travelers considered if they meet required experience
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of consideration and is subject to approval based on unit needs
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis, though non-local candidates are prioritized
• Radius rule of 60 miles applies for local candidate determination
