Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN requiring 2 years of Peds ICU experience and current SC or Compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position within a children's hospital
• Float required within scope to all pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Required to work every other weekend
• Holiday rotation required
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• BLS and PALS certification required (AHA only accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations, IV vasopressors, and anti-seizure medications
• Skilled in care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, and acute airway maintenance
• Proficient in interpretation of ABGs and management of chest tubes
• Experience with central line, implanted line, and PICC line care
• ICP monitoring experience
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Strong infection control and isolation precaution practices
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services to pediatric patients across multiple specialty units
• First-time travelers considered if they meet required experience
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be prioritized; local candidates considered case-by-case at a reduced rate
• All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application for review
• Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval based on unit needs
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
