Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Stroke & Brain PCU position requiring NIHSS certification and telemetry/stroke patient care experience.

Details

• Stroke & Brain progressive care unit with 16 beds
• 4:1 patient ratio
• Tech support available on the unit
• Uses Welch Allyn VS machines, Hoyer lift, Sarah Steady lift, telemetry monitors, bladder scanner, and Doppler equipment
• Meditech documentation system used
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 3 shifts per week with 3-4 weekend shifts required
• Floating required to any area where competency has been demonstrated

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in telemetry/PCU specialty
• Stroke patient care experience required
• Cardiac drips and telemetry experience required
• Basic dysrhythmia skills needed
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide care to telemetry and neurology patients including cardiac drips and stroke management
• High employee engagement on the unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
