Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 1 year of experience and prior travel experience at a teaching hospital.

Details

• Stepdown/PCU mixed-acuity unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM), 36 hours/week
• Some weekends required
• Float within the OSU health system required
• Call required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or med/surg experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not eligible
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Care for progressive care patients with mixed acuity, including telemetry monitoring, wound care, and IV therapy
• Skills such as central/peripheral line care, respiratory management (BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care), and cardiac monitoring are utilized
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application and limited to 7 days or less
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible to return as travelers after 6 months away from the facility
• Current OSU employees are not eligible for travel assignments at any Ohio State University hospital location
