Description

American Traveler is seeking a Progressive Care Unit RN for a float pool position requiring both KS and MO or compact licensure and cardiac telemetry experience.

Details

• Float pool position covering approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU units with potential floating to other metro campuses
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday shift and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• No on-call requirements
• Care for patients with cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID conditions
• Utilizes 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell systems
• Virtual nursing support available

Requirements

• Active Kansas and Missouri RN license or Compact license required in hand
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• 1 to 2 years of recent specialty experience required, with a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months and no employment gap greater than 90 days
• Experience in cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Pre/Post Cardiac Cath experience required
• Sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port accessing/management, blood product administration, and central line care/management preferred
• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor level or above and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across multiple Med/Surg Intermediate/PCU units as part of a float pool team
• No home unit assignment; floating between units and facilities required as clinically appropriate
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract period
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Returning staff must meet a facility tenure policy requiring an 18-month assignment with a 3-month break in service
• Permanent employees of BJC or Saint Luke's must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• EPIC training required prior to start, along with infusion pump and glucometer training
