Join Our Team as a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit!** **Job Description:** - **Shift:** 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM - **Unit:** PCU (Cost Centers: 630/633) - **Location:** Summit Medical Center, 5655 Frist Boulevard **Unit Specifics:** - Number of Beds: - Cost Center 630: 34 beds - Cost Center 633: 25 beds - Patient Ratios: - Days: 1:4 to 1:5 - Nights: 1:5 to 1:6 - Unit Staffing: - 3 Techs when full on 630 - 2 Techs when full on 633 - Equipment Utilized: - Bipaps, high flow O2, vapotherm, alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, and wound vacs **Documentation System:** - Meditech **Scheduling Requirements:** - Every other weekend commitment - 3 twelve-hour shifts per week **Floating Policy:** - May float within PCU units or to med-surg floors **Patient Experience Requirements:** - Hourly rounding on days - Every 2-hour rounding on nights - AIDET communication and maintenance of communication boards **Certifications Required:** - BLS and ACLS **Why You Will Love This Opportunity:** - Engaging and supportive care environment focused on teamwork and patient welfare - Utilize techs to enhance patient care and assist you in daily responsibilities - Self-scheduling with 4-week schedules for better work-life balance - Most travelers choose to extend after their initial assignment due to positive experiences and camaraderie **Request Skills:** - Must-have critical thinking skills - Proficient in EKG rhythm interpretation - Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips - Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred - Peripheral IV skills required - Advanced skills: - ACLS certification - Experience with bipaps, multiple oxygen delivery systems - Stroke and post-cardiac cath care experience - Tube feedings and NG/dobhoff tube handling **Procedures Performed on Unit:** - Peritoneal dialysis - Thoracentesis and paracentesis - Chest tube insertions - Dobhoff/NG tube insertions - Central line dressing changes - Troubleshooting wound vacs **Dress Code:** - Required uniform: Black Scrubs **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
