• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
• Position Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Step-Down Nursing
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend required
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Setting: Acute care PCU with opportunities to float between PCU units or med-surg floors as needed
• Location: Hermitage, Tennessee

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• At least 1 year of recent PCU, telemetry, or step-down nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• Strong critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience managing cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Experience with BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and other oxygen delivery systems
• Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac cath care preferred
• Peripheral IV insertion skills required
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
• Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tubes preferred
• Comfort working in a collaborative, patient-focused acute care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to PCU patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Manage patients receiving cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips
• Support respiratory care needs, including BiPAP and high-flow oxygen therapy
• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2 hours on nights to promote patient safety and satisfaction
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, Dobhoff/NG tube insertions, and central line dressing changes as needed
• Troubleshoot wound vacs and collaborate with the care team to ensure smooth patient management
• Communicate effectively with patients and families using AIDET and unit communication tools
• Float between units when needed while maintaining excellent care standards
• Contribute to a team-oriented culture where patient care truly feels like family
