Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required; Progressive Care Unit, step-down, or acute care experience strongly preferred
• BLS and ACLS required
• Strong critical thinking and EKG rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
• Ability to manage BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
• Experience with stroke and post-cardiac cath care preferred
• Peritoneal dialysis, peripheral IV, tube feeding, and NG/Dobhoff experience preferred
• Comfort working rotating patient assignments and floating between similar care areas as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care to PCU patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Administer and titrate cardiac, insulin, and heparin drips per protocol
• Support patients requiring advanced oxygen therapy and respiratory support
• Perform hourly rounding on days and every 2-hour rounding on nights
• Deliver patient-centered communication and maintain care boards accurately
• Assist with procedures and unit-specific tasks including wound vac troubleshooting, chest tube care, central line dressing changes, and NG/Dobhoff insertions as appropriate
• Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to maintain a safe, efficient, and family-like unit culture
