Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring an OH or compact RN license and at least 1 year of recent experience.

Details

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a teaching hospital
  • Patient population includes MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Telemetry cases
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
  • Weekday schedule with occasional weekends and rotating holidays
  • Floating required within the OSU hospital system
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or compact license in hand at time of consideration
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required; 4 years preferred for MS/Tele background
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and non-invasive airway management
  • Must provide 2 professional references, at least one from a manager/director or supervisor, and one from a charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care for patients requiring progressive/stepdown level monitoring
  • Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response as needed
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
  • Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignments only after 6+ months away from the facility
  • Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel positions
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
