Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown position at a major academic medical center in Ohio, requiring 2 years of progressive care experience and active OH or compact licensure.

Details

  • 17 North Mixed Acuity is a 32-bed Stepdown/PCU unit at a large academic teaching hospital with an average daily census of 25–32 patients
  • Patient population includes mixed medical diagnoses as well as pre- and post-surgical patients requiring PCU-level care
  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts per week)
  • Schedule requires working every other weekend
  • Floating within the hospital organization is required
  • On-call responsibilities are required
  • 36 hours per week
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or compact license (must be active at time of consideration)
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent progressive care or PCU/Stepdown experience required
  • Experience with similar PCU/Stepdown patient populations required
  • Preferred skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code teams, IV therapy, blood product administration, central line and PICC care, heparin protocols, respiratory support, wound care, and pre/post-surgical patient care
  • Teaching hospital experience welcomed
  • 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as a second reference; no coworker references accepted
