Common diagnoses: Cardiac and stroke focused.
Experience required: Must have experience with telemetry.
Tele/Monitor Techs are available on the unit.
Charge Nurse present: Yes, charge on each shift, does not take a patient assignment unless necessary.
Nurses Aides: 3-4 on shift, no specific ratios.
Job Duties: Patient care, ADLs, blood sugar checks, vitals, and more.
Shifts & Scheduling:
PCT Shifts: Days 0700-1530, Evenings 1500-2330, Nights 2300-0730.
Schedule is typically made out for 4-6 weeks at a time.
Management will ask for travelers' availability and will do their best to accommodate requests, but nothing is finalized until the schedule is balanced.
Travelers are asked to stay flexible to help fill gaps in permanent staff.
Block scheduling is not guaranteed.
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
Holiday Requirements: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation.
Call or Standby requirements: None.
Floating Requirements: First to float.
Scrub Color: Maroon Red.
Unit-Specific Orientation: 2 days of classroom orientation and 1 day of orientation with a preceptor.
Cancellation Policy: Client may cancel up to 1 shift per 4-week assignment, 2 shifts per 8-week assignment, or 3 shifts per 13-week assignment with no penalty.
Charting System: Allscripts.
BSN Required: False.
