Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN with pediatric and Level II trauma experience for a 13-week assignment requiring TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Level III Trauma Center inpatient PACU setting with Phase I and Pediatric PACU coverage
  • Day shift schedule, Monday to Friday, 5x8-hour shifts from 12:00 to 20:30
  • Call responsibilities required
  • Assists with coverage in Pre-Op as needed
  • Recovers surgical patients across ortho, neuro, general, urology, dental, GYN, and pediatric ENT cases (T&A, BMT, etc)
  • Monitors patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and arterial lines
  • 1:2 patient ratio

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience preferred, covering all surgeries except cardiac
  • Pediatric PACU experience required
  • Critical care experience strongly preferred
  • Level II trauma experience preferred
  • Cerner charting experience preferred
  • Experience with arterial line management, central line care, dysrhythmia recognition, and cardiac monitoring
  • Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring

Additional Information

  • Provides post-anesthesia recovery care for adult and pediatric surgical patients
  • Manages patients recovering from a wide range of surgical specialties including ortho, neuro, GYN, ENT, and urology
  • RTO must be submitted with application, and some holiday coverage should be expected
  • Pending license accepted for consideration but must be active before the start date
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
  • On-site drug screening is required, including a marijuana panel, with a mandatory pass for assignment eligibility
  • First-time travelers with strong experience may be considered
