Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

• Level II Trauma Center following ASPAN standards
• PACU unit caring for pediatric (1yo+), adult, and geriatric patients
• Handles same-day surgeries, in-patient admits, and observation patients
• Surgical case types include vascular, general, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, podiatry, ophthalmology, thoracic, trauma, bariatric, ENT, oral, plastics, cardiovascular, and interventional radiology
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 10:30-21:00
• No weekend requirement
• No call requirement
• Floating required, including between sister facilities
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Prior charge experience preferred
• Experience with pacemaker insertion, post cath lab, and pre/post IR procedures preferred
• Skilled in pre/post-operative patient care, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, and pain assessment/management
• Experience with conscious sedation, general, local, MAC, and nerve block anesthesia types
• Proficient in IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for compliance

• Provide pre- and post-operative recovery care across a wide range of surgical specialties
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Any scrub color accepted except reddish orange
• Facility-paid parking provided
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must not have worked as a permanent employee at this facility within the last 3 months, and cannot reside within 50 miles if previously employed there
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• One RTO request may be pre-approved with offer submission; additional post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• Only one submission to a Providence facility system-wide is allowed at a time
