Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring at least 1 year of PACU experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

  • PACU unit within a Level II Trauma Center following ASPAN standards
  • Patient population includes pediatric (1yo+), adult, and geriatric patients across same-day surgeries, in-patient admits, and observation cases
  • Surgery types include vascular, general, orthopedic, pediatric, urology, gynecology, neuro/spine, podiatry, ophthalmology, thoracic, trauma, bariatric, ENT, oral, plastics, cardiovascular lab, and interventional radiology
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10-hour shifts from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM
  • No weekend or call requirements
  • Floating required, including to sister facilities near the contracted location
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum of 1 year of PACU experience required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition, pain management, and administration of narcotics/opioid analgesics and reversal agents
  • Experience with pre/post-operative care, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and 12-lead EKG/ECG preferred
  • Experience with conscious sedation, general, local, and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide pre- and post-operative recovery care including pain assessment, medication reconciliation, and discharge instructions
  • Care for patients recovering from cardiac, ENT, general, gynecologic, ophthalmologic, orthopedic, and urologic surgeries
  • Any scrub color accepted except reddish orange
  • Parking is facility paid
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • One pre-approved RTO request allowed at time of offer
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • Radius requirement of 50 miles from the facility
  • Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
